True Triathlon Training

We study the course, the elevations, the climate, the average wind velocities and directions, the humidity, the rainfall, the precipitation levels, the water temperatures. We know the referees, the types of pavements on the courese, the types of trees in the areas, pollen levels, wildlife...

We study. We learn. We make assumptions. We calculate.

99% of Triathlon Training is done in the lab.

Jimmy Riccitello Chime In

Jimmy Riccitello will be the Head Referee this year at Idaho. I heard he’s been doing the Idaho course since its inception. You can expect him in 09. He runs a tight ship and follows the standard three strikes rule. Though he does not speak publicly about it often, he gets furious of athletes wearing Ipods and does not tolerate them by any means. He’s known to have a keen eye for them and once he pings you, you’re sure enough to see him again soon-very soon.

His recommendation to athletes prior to the race during his speech in 07:

“If I see you once with the IPOD machine device, you better get rid of it, reckon. You folks from around the country are visitors here in Beautiful Coeur d’Alene for this fine event. And just that - visitors and visitors only. We don’t tolerate gadgets in this here town. Now when you head on back to the city where you came from, feel free to move on at will - but here in Coeur d’Alene we run a tight ship and things go my way.”

He also uses strategic techniques of shield and jot, jot and shield. Seen below he is actually penalizing athlete’s ¼ mile back.
